Swimming for kids
In summer, it is great to do some nice swimming, especially when you make a trip. Of course, you can swim in the pool at La Posada del Angel, and after splashing, you can dry yourself while you drink in the terrace beside the pool, but if you need to do some lengths, the public pool of Ojen offers you a solution. Furthermore, there are also beautiful beaches which are from 15 to 20 minute drive from the village. And for a whole day of entertainment, you can also go to one of the water parks of the area.
Pool of La Posada del Angel
The pool of La Posada is wonderful because the water is cool in Summer and warm in Winter, and that makes it a lovely place to spend the day during the whole year.
Beautiful beaches
All along the coast, there are many beautiful beaches, and some of them have a playground for kids.
Tips: Trocadero (with a playground and sea without stones), Sardinales (with a river) and Aqui te quiero ver (a small sheltered beach with no stones in the sea). All of them have fine restaurants and sun loungers.
Public swimming pool of Ojén
At the Complejo Deportivo Municipal (above the village of Ojen), you will find a large public pool that it is open from June to September. Apart from the pool, there is also a big area with grass surrounding the pool and a restaurant. The price for children is € 1.00 and for adults € 2.00.
Water parks
If, after a few days of beach, you want something else, you can visit a water park of the area. Normally, they are only open during the Spanish school holiday (from mid-June to mid-September), but they are a very nice place to spend the day. Most of them have a separate area for toddlers.
The Guadalhorce Reservoir
In Summer, at this azure lake, there are paddle boats for hire. Besides, swimming in the lake can be combined with a tour of the area. Some recommended places to visit are El Torcal (a nature reserve) or The Lobo Park (a wolf park).
Hiking through the river
With swimming clothes and water shoes or sandals, you can take a walk through the river. At the end you’ll find a place where you can swim and jump from the rocks. Ask in the hotel where to go for this beautiful hike. Kids must be able to swim well!
