Nature rapidly recovering after the fire in late August

After the fire of 31 August which all residents of Ojén and guests of La Posada del Angel had to be evacuated, nature is restoring rapidly. From Ojén you only can see damage on the highest mountains and in a bend on the route to the village. The greatest damage is in the direction of the mountains behind Elveria , but there actually nobody goes. The area of Juanar and the Sierra de las Nieves has not suffered any damage.
Due to heavy rainfall in the last weekend of September, the first rain after 30 April, which initiated to severe flooding in the neighborhood of Malaga, the area starts to become green again. Nice to see that the burnt cork oaks again begin to sprout (see picture). With the wonderful temperatures and the re-facing resting on the beaches, October is a great month for a visit to this region.
Rotary Oegstgeest-Rhijngeest celebrates 10th anniversary in Ojén

In the end of September, a group of members of Rotary Oegstgeest-Rhijngeest visit La Posada del Angel for the celebration of their 10th anniversary. Ton arranged a program of activities and nice typical Spanish restaurants. For the golfers among them Helga arranged the tee times for playing some beautiful courses.

Autumn-guests took first dive in pool

Our autumn holiday guests had the scoop. From mid-October, we can use the beautiful pool. The pool has a nice finish of micro-cemento and soon the glass skylights and doors will be fitted. The entrance to the hotel was previously created. The water will be heated by solar panels and because the glass doors can be closed in winter, the pool can be used throughout the year.
Now we are reconstructing the small building beside the pool. A small bar will be realized with outdoor kitchen and several terraces. These are accessible from the lobby and through the upper floor of the hotel. Once construction is finished, we go in search of plants and a Moroccan fountain will be installed.
Hotel-buggy will pick you up from the parking

Since July, La Posada has its own hotel-buggy. When guests arrive at the parking lot, they can call the hotel. Within a few minutes they will be picked up with their luggage. After their stay, they can use this buggy-service again. Both the guests and the villagers are very enthusiastic.
